Whether you’re new to Little League or returning for another season, this experience is about much more than baseball or softball. Children build confidence, make friends, and develop important life skills in a safe, encouraging environment.

Little League teaches teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. It’s about working toward a common goal, supporting teammates, celebrating together, and learning to handle both victories and challenges. These lessons carry far beyond the field, helping players in school, friendships, and life.

Families are part of the experience too! Cheering on the sidelines, sharing post-game snacks, and connecting with other parents strengthens the community. It’s a place where memories are made and children and families can grow together—season after season.

Seasons

Spring Season

• Runs mid February through mid-May

• Conditioning typically begins in end of December/ early January

• Practices run through mid-February, and games start on Opening Day!

Fall Season

• Runs late August/early September through the week before Thanksgiving

• Developmental focus—great for new players or those looking to refine skills

Registration

• Opens 1–2 months prior to the start of each season

Practices

We aim to provide at least one practice per week, with some teams practicing more depending on coaches and field availability.

Typical Practice Times:

• Tee Ball & Coach/Machine Pitch: 5:30–7:30 PM

• Player Pitch & Majors: 6:30/7–8:30/9:00 PM

Once games begin, teams usually practice once per week, with 1–2 games scheduled weekly. Some teams may also schedule extra batting cage time or additional practices depending on availability.

Games

Baseball:

• Tee Ball: Saturday mornings

• Coach Pitch: Weeknights 5:45 PM–7:00 PM

• Player Pitch & Majors: Weeknights 6:30–8:30 PM

• Schedule comes from the VP of Baseball and games are played against other Dunedin Teams unless it is a Tournament 

Softball:

• Games are scheduled by District 12 and may be around the county

• Typical weekly schedules:

  • A Division: Practice Wednesday; games Wednesday night & Saturday morning

  • AA Division: Practice Wednesday; games Monday night & Saturday morning

  • AAA Division: Practice Thursday; games Tuesday night & Saturday morning

  • Majors: Practice Tuesday; games Wednesday & Friday nights

  • Seniors: Practice Monday; games Tuesday night & Saturday

• Some teams may schedule additional practices or cage time

Tournaments & Special Games

• District 12 Tournaments: Several held each year 

• Top Team Tournament: Awarded at the end of Spring to the division team with the best record

All-Star Tournaments:

• Begin early June and continue through summer for teams advancing at each level

• Districts & Sectionals: Typically in June

• State & Regionals: Held in July

• Little League Division (ages 10–12): Winners advance to the World Series in Williamsport, PA in August
